Good to see that missionaries still know how to have fun!

Well this week we have finally started to notice some progress in the sector.  We feel the Lord is testing our patience but we keep going.  We enjoy the work.  We found 2 new investigators this week and were able to meet with many others that had been busy for some time.  We've also really started to work with the ward, we have a member with us for every appointment now.  They are really excited to work with us, and us with them so it works well.
So we had a bit of a miracle this week.  We had an appointment set with a young man to teach him for the first time, his name is Uziel.  We passed by, but he wasn't there.  So we kept going on, and passed by a few more times later on in the week.  He was never there.  And then Saturday, after all our plans had fallen through and we were walking to go by a snack really quick, we saw him working in his front yard.  We offered to help, he gladly accepted, and we started to talk.  We worked for about an hour, and then he invited us in and we stayed for another hour to teach him.  He basically taught us why the church of Christ needed a restauration before we even said anything, so we had the perfect message for him.  We shared the Restaration and gave him a Book of Mormon, and he was pretty excited to learn more.  I'm really excited about him, he would be a fantastic member with his devotion to Christ and living after his example.
Hopefully everything is going well at home, love you guys

Letter to dad…  This one might have brought a tear to my eye.  Its amazing the gospel principles we learn as we serve the Lord!

We still haven't made much progress with investigators, we're still in the stage of finding basically.  We have one person that comes to church right now and it is very hard to get an appointment with her  now.  But with some of the new people we're finding we will start making more progress soon. 6 weeks for a transfer isn't enough time, I feel like there is too much to do and not enough time to do it all.  I'm already in my fourth week here, I don't want to leave.  I want to stay and build up the sector and really get things moving here.  It has so much potential.
I was studying something very similar this week.  I read in Corinthions 13 (I think)  when Paul says he could sacrifice his life but if he doesn't have charity it profits him nothing. So if we are focused on what we get out of something, we get nothing.  But what do we get if we have charity?  I studied some more and figured that its not what we get, its what we become.  Charitous actions will make us want to live more like Christ, but we need to want to do them.  Our will needs to be in line with his, and then we will be changed to become more like him.  (Theres a talk called the 4th missionary that explains this really well, its a great talk.)  Thats something I've been focusing on a lot recently because sometimes its hard to go knock doors in the rain.  It becomes easier when I remember I'm not doing any of this for me, and that other people need me to talk to them more than I want to stay dry and warm.
It looks like you all are having a good time, Liam seems even weirder but I don't really know what I expected.
Love you, Elder Price

Letter to mom.

So why did the boys go without all you guys?  Thats a little unfair, especally since I wasn't invited.
We're doing pretty well here, Elder Brighton likes the mission and we work really well with the members.  They seem to have a lot more trust in us.  We have more people to teach, but still not very many.  The appointments we have usually fall through, so we have lots of time to look for new people.  Its just the two of us in our ward, its actually really small.  The ward boundaries are smaller than ours.  For service we usually do something involving firewood, because everyone has some nnow.  We move it or cut it for people.  Thats always the best way to make a contact, it works just about everytime.  Sometimes just the offer of service softens them up to make them more receptive. Its definitely the best way to share the love of Christ.
Love you,
Elder Price
