"Everything is AWESOME"

Garrett left the CCM monday night and arrived in Santigo at 6:ooam the next day.  He was allowed to call us from teh Santiago airport but since he only had 400 pesos the call only lasted 3 minutes.  It was good to hear his voice.  Later that night he arrived in Osorno and we recieved a letter from his Mission President and from Garrett.  It was so fun to hear from him about his new area.

Dear Family of Elder Price,

We are pleased to inform that your son has arrived safe and sound and smiling to the Chile Osorno Mission.  It was a pleasure for us to greet your son upon his arrival and feel his desire to serve.  Enclosed is a picture that we took with him shortly after his arrival.  After a short period of orientation regarding mission procedures, customs of the country, etc., we assigned Elder Price to work in the city of Lago Ranco with Elder Greenwood as his companion.

Your son's address during his time in the mission will be:

                                                Elder Garrett Price

                                      Casilla 7-0

Sister Isom and I love our missionaries and are truly happy to have the opportunity to work with Elder Price.  We appreciate your willingness to share him with us as he works as a missionary and ambassador for the Lord in Chile.  Sharing the gospel with these deserving children of our Father in Heaven will certainly bring great joy and satisfaction to him and to you as well.  Thank you so much for helping him get to this point.

Your love, interest, and support will be of great help to him.  Please write him regularly.  Should there be any emergency or if you desire information regarding any urgent situation, please feel free to contact the Missionary Department in Salt Lake City rather than go to the expense of phoning the mission here in Chile.

The missionary work is progressing rapidly here in southern Chile. We hope that you will share in his exciting mission experiences as she writes to you weekly and keeps you informed of his challenges and achievements.

Sincerely,
President Mark P. Isom and Sister Cynthia D. Isom

Letter From Garrett:

Alright well I'm here in the mission home while writing this.  But I should be in my first area by the time you read this.  I'll be serving in a small town called Lago Ranco with a population of 6,000 people.  The Branch in this town is 13 people who meet in a home.  Its going to be crazy.  I'm excited.  I haven't met my companion yet, but apparently he's awesome.  I don't remember his name at the time though, but he's from Fallbrook, CA.  The presidency here is awesome, everthing here is awesome.  I can't wait to get started.  Apperenly I will learn a bit of portuguese and German here too.  All the missionaries I have met are super awesome and helpful.  And they all speak at least a little bit of English so that will help me learn quickly.
The area is beautiful.  Its always rainy but its very green and awesome.  The town is very small.  Osorno is the biggest but it feels tiny.  The airport we landed in was the smallest I have ever seen, with one runway and a bulidng probalby the size of our church.  Everthing here is very calm and spread out.  Its Awesome.
So my P-day will be on Monday, I don't know when I'll be emailing but expect one on that day.
Adios, te amo
Elder Price
