Week 4

So this week we had a thing called TRC, or Teaching Recourse Center.  Its where people volunteer to come into the CCM and hear a few lessons taught by the missionaries in training.  Usually the people are members, but theres always a few investigators or recent converts there.  On Saturday we were able to teach a young girl named Karely, who had been a member her whole life, but her older brother was falling away from the church.  She came to us looking for ways to help her brother stay strong in the gospel.  This was our first time actually helping a real person, all our investigators and discussions had been with teachers role playing as an investigator.  Her story caught us off guard, we were not expecting that, but we just opened our mouths and started talking.  We were able to use scriptures that we had studied earlier that day, we communicated pretty well in Spanish, and the Spirit was definitly guiding us.  Its true that if you prepare and learn the gospel, God will take over and do the teaching.  Were just instruments in His hands, and it is incredible.
Our regular lessons our getting better, Spanish is coming very quickly to our district.  We stay focused and work hard, and God blesses us for it.  Im going to have to relearn everything in less than two weeks but it wont take long to become fluent.  Weve been told that if we just keep going 100% then we will be fine in about a month down in Chile.
A few elders and I decided that were going to do a musical number before our last devotional, were going to sing a quartet of  Un Pobre Forastero, or A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief.  Itll be Elder Menden, Elder Stirling, Elder Draper and me.  Its tons of fun getting to know a whole bunch of different people.  All those elders are also going down to Osorno with me so itll be awesome having some friends down there.
Ive only got 12 days left here in the CCM, and I cant wait to get to the field.  Im very excited, its going to be awesome finally getting to teach and serve real people.
